Career Objectives :
The two-year Diploma in Dialysis Technician Program is designed to develop professionally trained and knowledgeable dialysis technicians who can effectively contribute in hospitals, dialysis centers, and paramedical institutions. The program aims to equip students with the technical expertise and clinical skills required to operate dialysis equipment and provide safe, effective care to patients with renal disorders.
The curriculum offers in-depth training in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, along with the principles of infection control, patient care, and equipment maintenance. Students are also taught to apply best practices in dialysis therapy, ensuring patient safety and adherence to healthcare standards.
In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in subjects such as anatomy, physiology, general pathology, pharmacology, and microbiology. They also receive training in basic dialysis techniques, hand hygiene, prevention of cross-infection, basic life support (BLS), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The second year focuses on applied clinical skills and patient care. Topics include common surgical and medical conditions, essential nursing procedures (such as monitoring vital signs, administering IM/IV/SC injections, oxygen therapy, nebulization, and IV infusions), as well as specialized training in nephrology-related diseases, hemodialysis, and Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD).
Duration :
This is a 2-year full-time course that includes both theoretical and practical training sessions.
